Good luck with your travels and thanks for a nice surprise on a Saturday evening! Love the idea of visiting royal burial places! That just might be the plans for this summer, with my family. Making it a tour of the burial places of our Swedish monarchs! Thanks for the inspiration!

Brilliant idea from your dad obviously ๐Ÿ˜. That would be a great homage to our Queen in her Jubilee year! That is a definite history geek need! I'm sure some of the less trodden destinations would also be thankful for the shout out too!

Can you include Queens, then you'd be in Peterborough and show off the Cathedral there

I love the idea of the burial places, I wonder if there is a way to tie in where the monarchs died as well. Thanks for the beautiful place.

Ooh yeah great idea! Some little in sight into the death and the body (bits all over the place!) would be great on there.

Is the Roman wall in London close to the Tower?

Expand full comment

Yes! Not too far and easily walked to.. Be warned it isn't very big, unlike Hadrians Wall, but good info plates at the parts you see. If you go to the wall make sure to see the London Museum and also go to Guildhall (Close to the remain) where not only is the guildhall impressive in itself but it was built on the site of a Roman amphitheatre. This is no longer there as Romes is but its marked out in the plaza and within the Guildhall art gallery there is part of the discovered remains of the amphitheatre. Great find and little known of. I believe it has part of the wall too but don't quote me!
