I was thinking Richard II and Henry V, too, when I wrote the question, as both cleaned up messes that were caused by others. As you know, those kinds of messes are the root cause of many revolts, and it's typically the every day people that would bare the consequences of the revolts the hardest. But I thought that limiting the question to just rulers would have been too narrow of a scope. So, I broadened it a little bit by adding in local leaders.

The Helen Castor one? It's called The Eagle and the Hart, out early October and top of my wish list, after a certain biography of Henry V obviously 🙂
