@Dan thank you so much for answering my question it's such a thrill! - if I can follow up, and I should of asked along with my question, but you have commented before on Friday night live that you already have a lot of books in your library that you reference when writing. I am looking to get my hands on some sources I can refer to time and again. Would you say (Ellis') Polydore Vergil history of England or Francis Bacon's history of H7 are good choices? or are there other historical books like Oxford's companion of British history that have a lot of good info on the monarchs, nobles and events of the times of the Hundred Years' War, Wars of the Roses or Tudors. I'm sure their are books you go back to time and again- sort of a starter kit for budding historians ! I'd really appreciate the help, it's hard, especially being American and not having your fantastic libraries here.
Thanks Dan, I did find that really useful - essentially a kick up the arse to get on with it but some good tips on managing that process too. Deadline to write Chapter 1 is in the diary.
Thanks Dan, I enjoyed that. I’ve been trying to write my first novel for a year and a half. Struggling a little with the editing and just motivation to edit. Some useful stuff here though, hoping to get 2 chapters done tomorrow!! Eye on the prize!
Despite having no writing aspirations, I enjoyed listening to this. Hopefully your voice recovers before the book tour, Dan.
Looking forward to the surprise...

I’ve thought of writing the years of events down and filling in what happened throughout those years then condensing it, is that a good process ?
