Hey Dan. Is this the end of your journey into the world of fiction? Would something set during the Crusades tempt you or is that a crowded market?

If you had to have one of your characters over for dinner, who would you choose and what would you serve them?

Hey Dan, I hope 2 questions are allowed. Here goes: If the Essex trilogy is made into film ( & I hope to God they are) would you consider playing a role, small or large in it? You are great on camera!

Thanks! Many good wishes for you and family.

If a film were to be made of the trilogy (film gods please make it so) who would you cast as The Dogs?

Hi Dan, by having the freedom to not stick to historical accuracy and facts 100% of the time, what part of the trilogy was the most fun to play around with?

If you were going to write a prequel or fleshed out backstory for one of the fictional Essex Dogs, which one would pick?

Hello Dan,

In the last Q&A and in this post again you asked to preorder your new book because 'it helps so much'. I understand that it makes a difference for an author/you whether someone preorders a book or only buys it when it will be on the market. Why?

I'm sorry (not really) for that stupid question but to preorder books is not common in Germany.

Thanks + lots of success for your new book. 🤞 (In Germany we press the thumb to wish good luck.)

Well, if this is the reason, I would understand it. He has spent hundreds of hours writing and finishing the book but has probably not been paid a single penny for it yet. But I don't think he would be happy being paid in $ in the UK. 😉

After your Neil Warnock admission on the book tour, which other 90s/2000s spit and sawdust managers have you based characters on in the final instalment?Barry Fry? Mick McCarthy? Steve Bruce? Jean Tigana on the French side?

Hi Dan, As a historian, you're used to dealing with the real chaos of the middle ages, but did any of your research ever make you think, ‘Yep, that’s too bonkers not to put in a novel? And was there a specific moment when you thought, ‘These blokes need their own story’?" Looking forward to reading Lion Hearts and seeing you in September at your An Evening With… at Sinfonia Smith Square! 🤗

Hi Dan - hello from Budva Montenegro

Can’t wait for the book - spin off for the Earl of Northampton would be brilliant but I know you are busy

Question- how important were mercenaries to the Agincourt victory? and did any particular group stand out?

Was painting the black prince as a spoilt brat just a bit of fun or did you uncover a bit of evidence that made you rethink the whole “chivalric” reputation of him
