My favorite sound is colonizers' gnashing of teeth over the destruction of monuments that were built by slaves. Keep whining Jones, I fucking love it.

It makes me think about other talented or artistic people who have a less than savory past or image but have given us something significant, do we take away their accomplishments bc of the flawed human? I'm am not defending but still feel some due justice in his efforts of "discovery" - my heart breaks thinking of the people affected by R.Kelly and Michael Jackson but also I love their music and it played a big part in my formative years

Christopher Columbus. If you have an hour, check out the debate around Columbus Day in the US. Joe Biden declared Columbus Day in 2021 to be Indigenous Peoples Day but I think Columbus Day remains as a holiday, I reckon Joe is trying to keep everyone happy but I'm not sure how that will work out. One of the most liberal cities in the US, San Francisco, claims the title of oldest continous celebration of Columbus Day. Fun fact, the KKK oppose Columbus Day because Columbus was a Catholic......

And chest-thumping virtue signaling. Humans tend to have innate Puritanical tendencies based on religious or moral elements that nurture a political agenda. For the 2020s, the religions have shifted to handpicked science and historical Western Civ humility.
