We have jousts here in the US as part of renaissance festivals - very showy, usually a Mongol in the tournament, everyone is inexplicably eating turkey legs.
We went to see some "jousting" at Sewerby Hall near Bridlington on Easter Sunday. Was more theatrical than anything but it's a bit of fun and the children enjoyed it
I love me a joust. Last one I saw was In La Cite in Carcassonne, before Covid was even a twinkle in Wuhan's eye. For anyone interested, Jason Kingsley has a fantastic series of videos on youtube about how they trained destriers to fight and joust.

I live in a one-horse town and even though our Ren Faire is teeny tiny, there is no shortage of turkey legs.
You can joust in your car. That's the reason y'all drive on the wrong side of the road.

If I hadn't been ill, I'd have been there myself. The Armouries is a gem to visit. You can spend the best part of the day wandering around te place.

Not going to channel your inner Heath Leger for the jousting? Would make great TV.. 4 parter of 'Becoming a Knight and the art of the joust' ???
Ahh we love the jousting at the Royal Armouries. We try to go every year. One of our favourite places to go. Definitely make a trip if you can.
Hi Dan - it’s great to see Ed 3 keeping spirits up but it smacks of a superspreader event!
