One of these days, I’m going to ask for a post thematically set around planning one’s honeymoon (and also first) trip to the UK. Perhaps with little tidbits about how early one should book tours, if there are special requirements/times of the year one can and can’t get into places (COVID notwithstanding, of course)…. I have an overwhelming wish list that I would put this on. Managing and tackling said list is extremely daunting!
Podcast #9 was hilarious! The fact you used the term “s*ck *ss” to describe the parking situation was funny but your story of Sir Ian McKellen was priceless! You made my commute home an enjoyable one. I’m looking forward to Podcast #10.
Just saying…..aghast…reflecting.. which student would be so enlightened…..I want to say…perhaps Mr. D. Jones springs to mind. You were then and I assume now incredibly insightful. I am not one to assess anything - my daughter is 20 and I know I an ignorant. Without Intelgence…she never tell me, she just flings her hair. That is an historical fact!
Wow, just wow, and not just the screen but the fact you hadn’t been in! At least once a year for this one when I grew up there for Carols at Kings, if we couldn’t get in, we’d go and stand outside to listen. Majestic!
Isn’t it amazing how seeing something like that ‘in the flesh,’ so to speak, can take you right back and connect you to what was happening at the time it was created. Henry was a monster, no doubt about that, and I doubt Anne was ever madly in love with him, but at that moment he was willing to advertise his love to the world. It’s very lucky that that motif still exists as evidence of that rather fleeting time.
My family and I visited Cambridge in 1998 while on tour of the U.K., and it was almost overwhelming to finally walk into Kings College Chapel. I'd seen many pictures and history shows about it, but the full grandeur can't be experienced until being there in person. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Amazing.
Looks absolutely amazing 😍
I can look at King's College Chapel - inside and outside - for hours. It takes my breath away, one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.
Agreed

Wow, must visit it in 2023...
Does one still go up to Cambridge if coming from York or other northern spots?
Thank you for sending
Beautiful. I'm not a believer but I love visiting religious buildings.

Gorgeous!!!!! Thanks for the introduction.
Call me strange, but I love to look at tile patterns and then use them as inspiration for quilts. This one is definitely a winner.
I guess Henry didn’t chisel off EVERY Anne in the kingdom- magnificent chapel and find
Thank you for the Snap and Snippet of King's College Chapel.
You’re welcome!
