James - I have just confirmed you can still enter the competition! If you are lucky enough to win, we will issue the voucher to your android device once our app is available for Android!
Hi James, my name is Meg from JourneyHero. Unfortunately, that’s correct, it is only available on iOS at the moment, but will be available on Android very soon!
We will keep you posted, because even if you miss the chance to enter the competition, when you book travel with JourneyHero, we keep searching for better deals even after you've booked and paid for your trip, and we give you money back if we find one! There's no other travel booking app out there like us!
Thanks Dan. As the founder of JourneyHero, I can just say thank you for running this competition! I'm a user of our product and I just love to travel to all of the locations in P&T. It's too bad I can't win. 😏
I would pick Rome as it's my soul city, but I have to defer to my wife who is absolutely enamored with the Tudors. We would pick London and I hope I can bring her there for the first time since COVID started. We were supposed to go back for our tenth anniversary but the world had other plans.
Just going to shut my eyes and open the book and wherever the story is at the moment is where I’ll go - looks like Monte Cassino/southern Italy from pp. 220, chapter on Monks ⛪️
Monte Cassino was my choice as well although Cluny was a close second. I've seen Monte Cassino from a distance but didn't have a chance to visit. Legend has it that Attila the Hun is buried in a river bed (along with his vast treasure) in the region somewhere close.
There is so much to see in that region. I'd venture out from Naples (about 60 miles) or, if you don't mind a bit of a drive/ride, Positano is the coolest in the region. It's about 2.5 hours south of Monte Cassino. I always stay in a perfect hotel in Positano that is five minutes from the beach. 😃
Everything is interesting, so it's hard to chose. Let's set up a checklist, perhaps that will narrow it down. Personally, I'd like to be comfortable, so availability of a more than just 'decent' hotel; good food and drink.... Nice weather but not too hot to stroll around. Preferably Dan as a guide, so not in a Covid hotspot or he'll be out with his fourth bout. We absolutely need bookshops. Not overrun with tourists (we don't count as tourists obviously, but as students). Feel free to add or to argue 🙂
I'd recommend both Istanbul and Ravenna as locations that would fit your needs. I'd probably travel in September because it is, in my opinion, the best month for both locations. BTW, if I was to add to your checklist for me, I'd add the requirement for warm sea breezes. Ravenna may be just right because the sites are deliciously free of tourists most of the time -- especially after the summer. If you want hotel recommendations, just let us know. 😃
Dear Shane, you're spot on: I visited Ravenna last September! The mosaics are incredible, and it was pretty empty of tourists. Hopefully you get the same opportunity to view everything at your leasure.
Istanbul is pretty high on my Must Visit places, the sea breeze requirement will probably be met there... And I wouldn't mind a hotel recommendation 😊
Istanbul is surrounded by water. You have the the Bosphorus, the Propontis, the Golden Horn and the Sea of Marmara. So, it is cool in the evening and a bit chilly in the autumn (there is a surprising amount of snow in the winter). My favourite hotel is the Four Seasons Istanbul at Sultanahmet. It is one of my most favourite in the world. It is right between the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. It was formerly an Ottoman era penitentiary and it is beautifully restored. It is a bit pricey (for Istanbul). If you do not stay there, at least visit their Michelin starred restaurant in the former courtyard of the prison. Two great alternatives to the Four Seasons (by the way, there are two Four Seasons, so please select the correct one) are the AJWA Sultanahmet which is about five years old and beautiful or the Cronton Design Hotel close to the Golden Horn. I know them both and highly recommend them. I hope you visit Istanbul -- it is truly a magical city!
Hi Jennifer, this is Meg from JourneyHero. That's great, and of course you can enter to win! We will issue the winning Traveon in your currency if you do. England is a winning destination in our hearts ;)
Unless I have missed the obvious, it doesn't look like the app is on android / play store. Oh well.
Good luck to those who do enter. There is a strong list to choose from. I don't know how I would be able to decide anyway!

Thanks
That is very kind of you Meg. Thank you.
I will now have to get my thinking cap on as there were a few locations that captured my mind when I was reading PoT

Can confirm that JourneyHero is great. I’ve been using it to book flights and hotels for my upcoming Europe trip.
Thanks Julia! We look forward to being better and better for our travellers

I think I saw a program on tv once where they were searching riverbeds for his burial site, but I didn’t put that together until I saw your comment!

I would love to revisit the breath-taking Krak des Chevaliers near Homs - or I can make do with the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles in Tripoli
Done! Rome for me!!
Downloaded. Not sure if Americans can win but here goes nothing. If you choose England are you automatically removed?!
