Deffo want to get a limited edition as well as a normal one

Kind of don’t want to read the 3 chapters as it will be hell to have to wait for the full launch after reading the first 3

I'm looking forward to the new book. I'd certainly purchase the Limited Edition as I did with Essex Dogs. It would be nice to have all three books in Limited Edition form.

“...the shocking realities of the medieval deep state.” 😂😂😂

After reading those three chapters, I have thoughts:

1.) Such a pleasure to revisit this world!!!

2.) This book will translate MAGNIFICENTLY to the screen when it’s inevitably picked up by HBO, BBC, or STARZ. I felt this doubly while reading the opening scene...the visuals were pretty fantastic, especially as the Captain fell and during Romford’s mushroom fever dream.

3.) I loved the dark take on a fact of medieval warfare we often take blithely and in passing...searching the battlefield for spoils of war and the actual grit that would entail.

4.) Really enjoyed the pacing thus far.

5.) The Scotsman is a breath of fresh air, even with the relentless descriptions of his unkempt hair 😂

6.) This is very tiny and nit picky....If I had to give any sort of constructive criticism I would edit some sentences to give slightly less background...an example:

Taking away the sentence “Thrown from the top of the tower by a mad bishop.” And going straight from “Father was dead.” To “But in his mind’s eye...”

Another example: “...selling plunder to a sailor called Gombert in a city called Caen...” to “...selling plunder to a sailer called Gombert in Caen...”

These things are going on in character’s heads and it just makes the character’s thoughts feel more natural.

That being said, a certain amount of background must be included, as it’s been a minute since I read the first book, and my memory needed a bit of jogging.

7.) I can’t freaking wait to read the rest of this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ⏳ 🫠

Great news about a limited edition, Dan. Looking forward to seeing you again at Chalke Valley in a couple of weeks... although my hair is not blue this year!
