The production quality is outstanding, Dan, and much higher than any other history podcasts to which I've listened. The story is not only engaging, the sound effects and music make it 'pop'. I can't say I learned anything 'new' but the old story was entirely entertaining. Well done for excelling at another media!

I shall listen to this while cleaning the bathroom. It's becoming a bit of a tradition to clean the bathroom while listening to Dan.

Fantastic first episode! I listened to it walking to and from work. The Plantagenets are also my favourite medieval family and I love that you have devoted this series to them. I can't wait for the next episode!

I have really enjoyed this podcast. It brings the Plantagenets to life, with just the right amount of humour and mickey-taking!

So, I came upon your podcast quite by accident and I think it is easily one of the best. I subscribe to the bonus material. I was listening to it again and I was wondering about how the young people lived during those times. Today the younger ones are preoccupied with finding a mate and there are hundreds of Tinder and Bumble dating sites. Seems people just want to do what nature intended. What did they do back then? What was the societal equivalent? How did society view sex? And marriage for the common man/wife. Was there age limits? Consents? Were they arranged? Maybe this can be one of your bonus episodes.

I really dislike work of the woman who is doing "The Iron King". She cannot disguise the fact that she is obviously reading from a text, and her habit of making a statement and then pausing; making a statement and then pausing; making a statement and then pausing; drives me nuts! I don't think I'm going to be able to listen to this series And that's a terrible shame because the one on the Plantagenets it was great!

Excellent, informative and entertaining podcasts. Saw Dan Jones at the recent Oxford Literary Festival and I am now thoroughly enjoying his new novel "Essex Dogs". My wife and I have been very interested in Eleanor of Aquitaine and would be very pleased if Dan were to expand on her story in some future podcasts.

Re: episode 6, “Meltdown”:

John History wants a psychiatric deep dive done on HenryII. Seems that guy had his own personality disorders/diagnosis.

The anecdote about him, Beckett, and the coat is not normal behavior.

Altogether an interesting show! Nice diversion for the whole family on road trips.
