I would love a copy- I’m heavily tattooed myself and would love to understand more about the history of the art. Then to tell my mother who tells my regularly that I look ‘mutilated’ owing to the tats 😆 I rise above my anguish but would like to have some facts to impart!!

Wassim Razzouk is a tattoo artist in Jerusalem whose family have been tattooing Christian pilgrims (and others) for 260-some generations over 700 years. He’s been featured in international press and most recently on an episode of NatGeo’s Expedition Unknown. He’s also a Templar (you remember us—Nashville). Several of us on Pilgrimage visited his shop and now sport tattoos with designs that are centuries old. In fact, I believe you have one of his tattoos. If you sent me a book, I would treasure it until I re-gift it to Wassim!

The more the world changes, the more we humans stay the same. Tattoos are almost as fascinating to me as the reasons people get them, and I think we often forget that they have been around almost as long as us! Even the Victorians got them.

If you send me a copy, I'll get a tattoo of Roland the Farter jumping, whistling and farting in front of a visibly elated Henry II on one arm, and Wat Tyler with the words 'Don't hate thou cos thy ain't thou' on the other. I won't actually, but the book would be great anyway.

I'd like a copy to give to my friend as a wedding gift, she's getting married in October. She loves history and they both love tattoos, her husband-to-be is a tattoo artist x

Sounds like a really interesting read. If I win, I promise to bump it to the top of my massive TBR pile lol

I've got 4 tats and the next one will be from Razzouk this fall. I'm really looking forward to it (and the trip too lol)

So you know Razzouk! Several of us Knights Templar got his tattoos on pilgrimage a few years ago. I’m proud to say he is also a Templar. If you can, check out Nat Geo’s Expedition Unknown, where he’s featured in the episode about searching for a lost Biblical city. I believe Dan has a Tattoo by Razzouk. I promised I would Re-gift my copy to Razzouk if I win one. (I should have recommended he send it directly to Razzouk.)

I find tats artistically fascinating. Design, color and especially if it tells a story. As the Rolling Stones states: TATTOO YOU!! ;-))
