Thank you so much, Dan - I listened on my Friday afternoon walk and I have to tell you... Your embarrassing story sound eerily familiar to a story Sir Ian tells in his one man show, which he tells to hilarious effect. I admire your willingness to out yourself in this fashion. Well done.

Brilliant as always! I’m guessing, gone are the days of parking along the backs and leaving your car for hours on end while you wander through the colleges into town to do your shopping then! Oh the memories. I also remember Lion Yard James Tanton because that giant red lion on a plinth in the middle of the courtyard used to scare the bejesus out of me as a child!

I hope you didn’t get a parking ticket. I’m visiting Cambridge in a couple of months. I was born there (in the 70’s, hospital has long gone) and haven’t been there for over 20 years. Never been around the colleges etc, so looking forward to having a proper look around.

Tell Daisy she's got an admirer in Houston if you see her. ❤️ Also, you know I got my husband because I was his masseuse? I have "the hands of a god" according to your fellow alumnus. I'm just saying, the compound in Texas will come complete with a top-rated masseuse. 😂❤️

Had a college professor for world religion. First thing in the morning. He was such a fun guy to listen to. Great teacher. Well apparently one student tried turning him into the dean for swearing. It wasnt bad but he did do it. He had a frank talk about it to us and said “I really dont give a damn.” It was great. He was one of the best

Thank you so much for this Dan! I really needed it. I also have had a wierd week (2 in fact), and hearing you say you don't always make people happy but you will never stop trying resonated with me. You have no idea how much that simple thought helped me. Cheers!

Even the parking ticket will probaby be cheaper than remortgaging for the Lion Yard (obviously since renamed but I am old enough to still call it by that, just as my dad still calls snickers a marathon).

Your memories of student accommodation got me thinking about mine.

20 years ago I started at Lancaster University, like Cambridge it is college structured, but on a campus. I was in Pendle and it was considered posh was there were only 8 to a corridor and therefore there were 2 showers and toilets to share between us! My room even had a sink in, but internet was an expense I couldn't afford.

When I moved off campus and into housing, that's when it got interesting. £43 rent per week

Your story about Sir Ian had me laughing so hard I nearly choked on my tea. Brilliant! Sounds like you are in a posh bedroom. Do they have a massage service to help pop your back into place?
