I won't admit to how long I got into this before realising I had listened to it already when I got the first email.

Never thought I’d hear “Christ’s Foreskin” so often in 30 mins! Thank you very much for answering my question! #UnbiasedAuthor

I love that you post a photo of where you are, it gives a visual and sets the scene! Thanks again for a great pod :)

Just to let you know, as an American Audible subscriber (I don't want to assume about any differences in other countries), the John of Gaunt book by Helen Carr (The Red Prince) is included in the subscription.

Also, it drives me nuts when people complain about how things were better in "the good old days." They were only good at all if you were a rich, white, land owning man. Other than that, not only were they not better, they weren't even good. And the rise of cell phones has helped many people immensely. People who are homeless can have a cell phone and a way to communicate when they would not have been able to have a landline. Women and others feel much safer now when they are alone because they know that they can call for help. We are filming attacks on LGBTQ+ and people of color so that these horrible things are known widely and cannot just be swept under the rug. In just the past couple of hours, more news is coming out about the trial of the murderers of Ahmaud Arbery and how it is going to trial as a federal hate crime. That would not have happened even a few years ago and definitely not without cell phones.

I saw a post once, and I don't remember who said it so sorry, no source, that said anytime I hear someone complain about technology, I want to break into their house and steal all their lightbulbs. That is how I feel.

Great podcast! It would be interesting to hear how you became a Historian etc. I'm sure others may like to hear it too?!

Very enjoyable as always 👏

Your thoughts on this question which came up in one of the Tudor FB sites I follow- were there laws prohibiting torture - or racking- of women? Or was it a matter of conventional propriety?

I love listening to this on the speakers in my classroom when my class is in PE!

As a fellow dog walker, Dan, what do you do if yours stops for a poop while you are broadcasting to your fans? Can you cut and pick up and then start again? Sorry not historical!

That has happened I think in every podcast. I keep talking and clear up the shit with one hand. THAT is why they pay me the big bucks

I have The House of Grey top of my pile at the moment. You might have tackled this already, but who are your top badass men in history.

When would it take longer to ship and receive Christ's Foreskin (TM)- in the fifteenth century or the modern day?

Have you never seen Emmerdale

I would have never pegged you for an Emmerdale watcher! Or is it your wife watches it so you have no choice?? 🤔

I was wondering the same thing. 🙂
