Oh! I've been doing research on the Beauvais Missal for my master's thesis and thought I recognized that as soon as I saw it! Otto Ege tore apart that book and sold leaves of it here and there, mostly in his collections of "50 Leaves from Medieval Manuscripts" that are around the US in various special collections.
Blah, I just realized we can't post pics here. But in the archive I've been working at, we have a page from the Beauvais Missal as well. It's quite beautiful, and there are people working hard to find all the pages to digitally recreate it (though of course, so much has been lost from the binding and the frontispiece that had some information pertaining to provenance has been missing since the 1940s at least. This is so fascinating!
Rabbits have a special charm for children. If there are two things I treasure of my childhood it is my grandmother's rocking chair (which she in turn inherited from her grandmother) and the rag bunny she made for me when I was a little girl. The rabbit never had a name, lives in the rocking chair in a corner of my bedroom, and it's my favorite place for read.
Hopefully getting my super special copy of Essex Dogs will give me a similar thrill as Maine Vellum Man got! Royal Mail's track & trace thingie is doing its bit to build up the excitement...
And a cliffhanger about William Marshall, looking forward to the revealing of that as well.

Imagine the journey that document has been on. Someone should make a movie. And pay Mr royalties cause it's my idea!
