This post reminds me of my favorite line of yours..."Spoiler alert: It's history, they are all dead"...which I use all the time. And no offense but the idea of you keeping your mouth shut is hilarious.
Still waiting for my limited edition Broken Binding edition, but I’ve been assured by them that’s it’ll ship soon. Looks like it’ll be well worth the wait. In the meantime, I’ll tuck into the podcast!
This whole process, to me, is fascinating. It’s like local folk tradition magnified to a thousand. I went to my county’s cathedral for the Proclamation to the King, complete with pomp, pageantry, and powdered whigs. It was utterly bizarre but so undeniably British. Wild times.
All I can think is that having a monarchy suits both the great British public and all British govts, regardless of party. Don’t know why -- nostalgia? Continuity? Superstition, like the ravens at the Tower? Don’t know. Don’t know how well that multi-billion £ fortune will go down in a winter where people will have to choose between food and heat. Anyway, good luck on the tour, looking forward to the podcast. I really enjoyed you on Knightfall!

BUT, it’s why we stick around to hear more……
Can’t wait for the podcast! Your book on the Plantagenets is one of my favorites!! It was my gateway drug/book into the Middle Ages.
Great bit. Really honest. Refreshingly brief.
If I hear the word 'solemnity' one more time I'll scream. Just a shame Leeds isn't on the tour.

Dude- I like this format so much better than the Friday Lives. IMHO.
Informative; well-written; and, I can read them whenever I have the time.
Good to see you last night in Colchester Dan - I was thinking how many times does he have to do this!
Still you came over well and were v generous with your time - thank you!

The money! I love that. This never ending trigger sending everyone mental.
Oh I wish a few more had made the same decision to shut the f*** up. So much banal "commentary" doing the rounds. Well done, Dan.
Only time will tell.
